This is absolutely a uniquely shaped disc, 1st of its kind. The disc isn't designed to be thrown in the traditional backhand roller. Instead, it should be thrown at a nearly vertical angle, close to 90 degrees, better for forehand release.
The balanced rim and centered weight distribution enables the disc to stand up smoothly, track arrow-straight through narrow passages, and then make a predictable cut at the end, rather than burning out early or flopping over.
Think of the Bailey roller more as a scramble or utility roller for tight, technical fairways, rather than a distance roller disc. It also performs effectively for tomahawk throws over obstacles, landing flat and predictably on the other side.
