As the proud presenting partner of the 2026 Disc Golf European Open - held for the first time outside Finland - we are excited to introduce a prototype run of an all new Originals line mold, the DD4. This marks the very first release of this mold, one that many fans and team players have been asking for over the years.
If you are new to disc golf, this may not be the best place to start. The DD4 offers a strong overstable flight and is the fastest disc in the distance driver lineup, making it a true utility option for many players.
For those with lower arm speed, the DD4 shines as a utility disc. With its 13 speed rating, it provides more versatility than slower overstable drivers like the Splice, Tilt, or FD3. The added speed allows for greater distance potential, while the overstability ensures reliability. It is also a great choice for forehand and overhead shots.
Players who can consistently throw beyond 100 m (330 ft) will begin to unlock more of the DD4s potential. The projected flight numbers are 13 | 5 | 0 | 3, but as a prototype run, this version may fly slightly straighter than expected.
For players capable of reaching 140 m (460 ft) or more, this run may even show some turn or flip up characteristics. This makes the prototype DD4 more accessible than a typical 13 speed with true 0 turn and 3 fade, while still offering significant distance potential for high power throwers.
Overall, this prototype run came out slightly straighter than anticipated, making it a viable option for a wider range of players while still delivering the power and reliability expected from a high speed distance driver.
